Is there a toilet on board?
Yes, every waterbus has a toilet available. If the toilet door is locked, please ask the steward for assistance.
Are dogs allowed on board?
That is allowed, but only on a leash and with good behavior. Dogs that cause a nuisance may be refused by our crew.
Am I allowed to wear face-covering clothing on board?
No, face coverings are on board of Waterbus not allowed.

How do I get to the windmills of Kinderdijk?
Consult the WaterShuttle website for the sailing schedule and more information.
How will I be notified of cancellations or delays?
You can see delays on the DRIS boards at the stops, our website, this app, social media, and in the journey planner.
How long does a trip take with Waterbus ?
We sail according to a fixed schedule. You can easily view the travel time in the journey planner. You will also find any transfers there.
Which lines are there of Waterbus active?
Line 20 sails between Dordrecht Merwekade and Rotterdam Erasmusbrug. Line 22 sails between Dordrecht Hooikade and Papendrecht Veerdam.
Where can I find a travel planner or travel advice?
On the website and travel app, you will find our journey planner with current routes, times, and transfers.
What if the waterbus is delayed?
That's annoying! But fortunately, you're at least still better off with us than in a traffic jam ;-). And of course, we'll keep you well informed via our journey planner.
Is the waterbus a good idea for a day trip?
Absolutely. And definitely use it for a romantic getaway, because then you'll be on the same wavelength immediately ;-).

Where do I check in and out?
At our stops, there are blue poles where you check in and out before boarding.
Can I park at the stops?
Parking is limited or paid in Rotterdam, Dordrecht, and Zwijndrecht. Check our overview on the website for P+R locations.

Yes, that is fine for private use. For professional use or publication, you can contact us via info@aqualiner.com.
How do I file a complaint or question?
We take your question or complaint seriously. Call us on +31(0)85-4895191, Monday – Friday between 08:00 and 20:00 and on Saturday from 09:00 – 17:00. We are happy to assist you.
I have lost something on board, who can I contact?
Have you lost something? That's annoying. Check our 'I lost' page and we will help you as best we can.

Punctuality
What happens if I am late?
Then you literally missed the boat ;-). But fortunately, we operate with multiple water buses. We recommend checking our travel planner for the next sailing.
Accessibility
Can I use the with a wheelchair or mobility scooter? waterbus ?
Yes, all water buses are accessible for wheelchairs or mobility scooters. Only on our type 2400 do we assist you with a ramp at the steep ramp.
Can I bring my cargo bike or scooter on board?
You can bring your bicycle for free. Scooters and cargo bikes are allowed upon instruction from the steward. Sometimes it is full; thank you in advance for your understanding.
Will I get help boarding?
You must be able to board independently. The steward will be happy to help you if necessary.
The gangway has just been retracted, and now what?
When the ramp is raised, boarding is no longer possible. We do this for your safety. Therefore, always follow the steward's instructions.
How wide is the gangway, what is its slope, and what is the maximum permitted weight?
The gangway has a drive-through width of 1.65m; the slope averages 11% depending on various factors. The maximum permitted weight is 1,000kg.
Travel ticket
How do I plan my trip with the waterbus ?
The journey planner is available on the homepage of the website. The planner shows which travel options are available at your chosen time and route. Any transfers are also included.
Which ticket do I need?
You travel with a valid ticket, an OV-chipkaart, or OVpay. If you do not have one, you can easily buy a ticket on board or in our webshop.
Have I with my Tourist Day Ticket from Waterbus access to the WaterShuttle and Kinderdijk?
Unfortunately not. The Tourist Day Ticket is only valid on the regular Waterbus -lines. Since October 6, 2025, Waterbus no longer to Kinderdijk. Since then, this connection has been provided by WaterShuttle, a tourist line with its own sailing schedule between Rotterdam and Kinderdijk.
Can I buy a ticket on board?
Yes, you can do that with the steward. However, please keep in mind that this is more expensive than an e-ticket or traveling with OV-pay or OV-chipkaart.
Can I change or cancel an online ticket?
Of course, it may happen that you need to change your ticket. That is not a problem, but any costs incurred are at your own expense.
How long is a ticket valid?
Your ticket is only valid on the selected date.
The steward isn't coming by. Can I travel for free now?
No, you always need a valid ticket. Without a ticket, you may receive a fine.
Something went wrong with OVpay. Where can I request more information?
You can view your travel details and incurred costs on the OVpay website.
I have a question about my OV-chipkaart?
You can ask all questions about the OV-chipkaart on the OV-chipkaart website.
I checked in with my bank card on my phone; can the steward see this?
Yes, you hold your phone in front of the verification device so the steward can see that you are checked in.
