Kinderdijk Water Bus

Starting October 6, 2025, Line 21 (Rotterdam–Kinderdijk) will be converted into a tourist line: the WaterShuttle. This fast connection is designed to serve the large number of tourists visiting Rotterdam.

The trip from Rotterdam (Willemskade stop) to Kinderdijk takes about 30 minutes. On the page below, you’ll find all the information about the WaterShuttle, the schedule, and ticket sales.

Still Want to Go to Kinderdijk by Waterbus?

Are you traveling from Rotterdam to Kinderdijk? There are two ways to do that:

Option 1: via Ridderkerk

Take the Waterbus from Rotterdam to Ridderkerk (about 26 minutes) and transfer there to the Driehoeksveer bound for Kinderdijk. A one-way trip on the Driehoeksveer costs €2.35 and takes about 10 minutes.

Option 2: via Alblasserdam

Take the Waterbus from Rotterdam to Alblasserdam (about 19 minutes) and travel the last leg to Kinderdijk

  • on foot in about 1 hour, or
  • by bike (which you can bring on board for free) in about 10 minutes.

*The Driehoeksveer is a separate route that is not operated by Waterbus.
