Dordrecht – Hooikade

The Hooikade stop is perhaps one of the best-known Waterbus stops for residents of Zwijndrecht and Dordrecht. If you’re on the Hooikade, you’ve likely passed through one of Dordrecht’s last city gates. The Catharijnepoort. Unlike the Groothoofdspoort, this gate wasn’t demolished but has been preserved. This building dates back to 1652 and still stands gracefully today. Close your eyes for a moment and try to imagine what it looked like back then—can you already hear the horse-drawn carriages?
