The number of travellers to Kinderdijk has risen since waterbus started its direct connection. As a result of the increasing interest in visits to Kinderdijk from Rotterdam, Waterbus has launched extra departures to Kinderdijk.
Waterbus line 21 currently travels from Rotterdam Erasmusbrug directly to Molenkade, Kinderdijk. Waterbus line 20 travels daily from Rotterdam Erasmusbrug and Dordrecht Merwekade to Ridderkerk De Schans. From there one can transfer onto the Driehoeksveer and travel to Kinderdijk.
The OV-chipkaart can be used on the waterbus or tickets can be bought on board. Bankcards only. Day cards for travelling with waterbus can be bought online via www.waterbus.nl/tickets.
How can I pay on the Waterbus?
- Tickets on board: tickets are available for purchase from the steward. Bankcards only! Check with the steward which type of ticket is best suited for your journey. A return trip from Rotterdam to Kinderdijk costs €8.
- E-ticket: quickly buy a ticket online.
- OV-chipkaart: check in and receive the best available fare. You can also top up your OV-chipkaart on board. A single trip from Rotterdam to Kinderdijk costs €3,63.
- Tourist Day Ticket: you can also check in on waterbus with the Tourist Day Ticket. This ticket is not available for purchase from Waterbus. A Tourist Day Ticket costs €14.50 and you can use it for unlimited travel in South Holland for one day.
