Starting from 6 October 2025, line 21 (Rotterdam – Kinderdijk) will be transformed into a tourist service: the WaterShuttle. This fast connection is aimed at the large number of visitors to Rotterdam and operates several times a day on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
The journey from Rotterdam (Willemskade stop) to Kinderdijk takes approximately 30 minutes. Below you’ll find all the information about the WaterShuttle, the sailing schedule and ticket sales.

Travelling from Rotterdam to Kinderdijk? You have two options:
Option 1: via Ridderkerk
Take the Waterbus from Rotterdam to Ridderkerk (approx. 26 minutes) and transfer to the Driehoeksveer ferry to Kinderdijk.
A one-way ticket for the Driehoeksveer costs €2.35 and the crossing takes about 10 minutes.
Option 2: via Alblasserdam
Take the Waterbus from Rotterdam to Alblasserdam (approx. 19 minutes) and continue the final part to Kinderdijk:
- on foot (about 1 hour), or
- by bicycle, which you can take on board for free (about 10 minutes).
