Once the gangway is raised, the captain (located in the wheelhouse) is already manoeuvring the vessel away from the stop and cannot see everything. If the steward were to lower the gangway again at that point, it could create a very dangerous situation. For this reason, our staff are strictly prohibited from interrupting the departure procedure.

When taking photos on board, please be considerate of other passengers and staff. Crew members may not be photographed or filmed without their consent. Not everyone appreciates being photographed, and we respect the privacy of our employees. Waterbus reserves the right to ignore or remove social media posts and emails that infringe on this. Freedom of expression is welcome, but always with mutual respect.
