Starting from 6 October 2025, line 21 (Rotterdam – Kinderdijk) will be transformed into a tourist service: the WaterShuttle. This fast connection is aimed at the large number of visitors to Rotterdam and operates several times a day on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
The journey from Rotterdam (Willemskade stop) to Kinderdijk takes approximately 30 minutes. Below you’ll find all the information about the WaterShuttle, the sailing schedule and ticket sales.
WaterShuttle: in 30 minutes to Kinderdijk
The WaterShuttle is your direct connection from Rotterdam to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Kinderdijk. No transfers or parking hassles, just a comfortable trip across the water. As the city recedes behind you, you’ll enjoy views of the Rotterdam skyline, the river landscape and iconic windmills emerging in the distance.
The WaterShuttle is ideal for tourists, families and groups: comfortable, fast and effortless. Step aboard and we’ll take you to your destination within 30 minutes. Fares
The following fares apply for the WaterShuttle:
- Single journey: €9.75
- Return: €19.50
- Children up to 4 years: free
- Children aged 4–11: 50% discount on the above fares
Residents of the municipality of Molenlanden will soon receive a 50% discount code. By showing their Kinderdijk Pass, they can travel at a reduced rate with the WaterShuttle. The Kinderdijk Pass can be collected free of charge at Kinderdijk.
